In November, our family on my mother's side were in total grief because one of his two brothers who were left alive, passed away from a kidney ailment. He is an employee so upon diagnosis of some disease complications, he immediately filed social security disability. This enabled him to claim a few benefits while he was unable to report for work. But it was no easy process. It was a little difficult to hurdle the system especially here in the Philippines. After a few weeks of constantly following up his documents, he was able to claim a decent amount for his medication. But his condition got worse. It was already too late to undergo some treatments. But still, he underwent dialysis treatment. I could see in his eyes he sitll would want to live long. Who doesn't want anyway? Until his immune system gave up. He could no longer breathe and was needed to be rushed to the hospital. His immediate family brought him to General Santos City but even before they reached the nearest hospital, we totally lost him for good. It was painful to his family and to his brothers and sisters as well. It was only a year before when they lost a sister, too. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! That's how life is. We really don't know when exactly God is going to take the life that he has lent us. So we better make the most out of it.
